140Char has a great point for why Plurk may not see a viral adoption by way of blogs:
Can we please give widget width options?
With all the Twitterholics wailing (or whaling) about downtime at least Twitter gives us the option of customizing Twitter feeds.
Plurk gives you the option to change the height but not the girth! Trickster!

Can we keep the fixation on 300 to King Leonidas and get flexible with Plurk widgets, please?

I imagine that with time, things will evolve on the widget side, much like they have for Twitter. I’m just surprised that there’s not an easy way to change the widget that Plurk has provided.
You’re probably right, Mike! What surprises me is that this early in the game, the Plurk team so far has kept mum. At least I haven’t gotten any responses from sending an email via contact form.
I’ve also plurked about wanting the ability to change the widget color. I realize Plurk has a brand identity to uphold, but I think if we can change our page color then we should be able to change our widget color.
I agree, Jill. It will be nice to be able to css-customize the widget, but the first battle is to get flexible widths.
The flexible, customizable Plurk sidebar widget is here. Click on my name above for the Plurkular rundown.
I was happy to finally see this. I’m hoping Jane’s post helped influence the A-Team to roll this out.
I’d like to think so too but what’s important is customizable widgets are here!
